Meet James Thompson (63)

Co-Founder

James Thompson is the co-founder of Thompson Boutique, which he started over thirty years ago in London together with his wife, Margaret. From the beginning, James focused on quality, buying, and the day-to-day running of the shop.

For many years, he was a familiar face on the shop floor, building long-term relationships with customers. His approach was never about chasing trends, but about craftsmanship, reliability, and clothing made to last.

Two years ago, James stepped back from the daily management alongside Margaret, while remaining closely connected to the values and character of the boutique.

Meet Margaret Thompson (61)

Co-Founder

Margaret Thompson is the co-founder of Thompson Boutique and played an equal role in building the shop from the ground up. She shaped the atmosphere, presentation, and the personal way customers were welcomed.

Margaret believed strongly in a calm, pressure-free shopping experience. That philosophy became a defining part of Thompson Boutique and remains visible today.

After more than thirty years in the business, Margaret stepped back from daily operations two years ago together with James.

Meet Emily Thompson (32)

Second Generation

Emily Thompson took over the day-to-day responsibility two years ago with the intention of carrying the boutique forward into its next chapter. With respect for what her parents had built, she explored new ideas while navigating a rapidly changing retail landscape.

Not everything unfolded as hoped. The past few years proved challenging for independent retailers and required difficult, honest decisions.

The Revival Sale marks a period of reflection and reset — creating space, learning from experience, and refocusing on the core values on which Thompson Boutique was founded.

Meet Daniel Harper (25)

Sales Assistant

Daniel supports the day-to-day running of the boutique and is often the first person customers speak to when they walk in. He assists with customer service, helps clients find the right fit, and offers straightforward, honest advice on the shop floor.

He also supports stock organisation, keeps the sales area tidy, and assists at the till when needed. Daniel values a calm, respectful approach and focuses on making customers feel comfortable rather than pressured.

Meet Lucy Bennett (24)

Sales Assistant

Lucy works closely with customers throughout their visit, offering help with styling, sizing, and general product questions. She is frequently responsible for the till and ensures transactions are handled smoothly and professionally.

In addition, Lucy helps with visual presentation in the boutique, restocking displays, and maintaining the warm, welcoming atmosphere the shop is known for. Her approach is friendly, attentive, and personal.
